A 90 year old Detroit woman was reportedly in her home around midnight when three men broke in. One of the men entered the elderly woman’s bedroom, and despite her attempts to fend him off with her bare hands, he raped her, according to police. The intruder then reportedly ransacked the home, before fleeing. The following morning, the woman’s grandson is said to have found her crying, hiding behind a bed. Pizza Delivery Driver Murdered for a Small Amount of Money

Richel Nova, of Hyde Park, MA, was a “hard working man, making an honest living” as Domino’s pizza delivery man, according to Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis. While making a delivery, three assailants reportedly stabbed Nova to death, in order to take the small amount of money that he was carrying, before fleeing in his vehicle. A tip from a member of the community and surveillance footage led to the arrest of the three suspects, who police say are high school students. An 19-year-old Chicago man has been charged in a weekend Lincoln Park rape and robbery, according to police. Marvin Hudson allegedly came up to a 21-year-old woman in the 1700 block of North Halsted Street about 2 a.m. Saturday and pulled her into an alley, Chicago police said in a news release. There he demanded the contents of the woman’s purse and then raped her, they said. Court records indicate Hudson has been arrested several times in the last three years on misdemeanor charges, and pleaded guilty in a misdemeanor trespassing case in Chicago in January. Nova Southeastern Professor Murdered by Violent Home Invader

A Nova Southeastern University science professor is dead following an overnight home invasion. Police say that an armed man entered the home around 12:34 a.m. at Northwest Sixth Court and 75th Terrace in Plantation, tied up a married couple and robbed them. Police spokesman Detective Robert Rettig said the robber then fatally shot the 46-year-old man. Investigators say the intruder then set multiple fires inside the house before fleeing the scene. The woman escaped the burning house with her 5-year-old child. She ran to a neighbor’s house and he called the police. When firefighters arrived on scene they discovered the victim inside the home. A clerk at Wheeler’s Convenience Store, 142 Dickinson St., was shot in the abdomen by a masked gunman during a robbery Sunday morning, police said. The 38-year-old male clerk was rushed into surgery at Baystate Medical Center following the 11:30 a.m. shooting, and is expected to survive, said Sgt. John M. Delaney. Police say a man in a hooded sweatshirt and wearing a mask entered the store, pointed a small-caliber handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register, Delaney said. He shot the clerk apparently because he felt the man was not emptying the register quickly enough, Delaney said. A Yonkers man, who reportedly raped and robbed a woman over a three hour period in an act of revenge against her boyfriend, has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison and 25 years parole. Kevin Denham, 28, had been convicted by a Westchester County Court jury of two counts of rape in the first degree, two counts of burglary in the first degree, two counts of criminal sexual act in the first degree, one count of robbery in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, and one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, according to news reports. Kugler, 29, was reportedly charged in Rock Island County Circuit Court with six Class X counts, which each carry up to 30 years in prison upon conviction. It is alleged that Paul McDonald traded his landlord’s new truck for the motorcycle and an older truck before fleeing to Vermont, where he was reportedly arrested. A Chicago man was shot in the thigh after an armed robber was angered by his lack of money. At 10:30PM on Wednesday, a 30 year old man was walking to a friend’s house on the 6200 block of South Francisco Avenue when an armed robber came up behind him and demanded money. The man replied that he had no money, at which point the gunman shot him in the back of his right thigh and then fled. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment. The gunman was described as an 18-year-old Hispanic man wearing a dark-colored hood, and remains at large. Police say that a 16 year old Schaumburg High School student, 18 year old Carmichael Nation (a Jamaican national), and a 3rd accomplice who is at large, entered the home of a Streamwood man to steal a safe on Saturday morning. The suspects allegedly held down the victim, stabbed him in the stomach, chest, and legs, and robbed him. Two men from Kankakee, IL have been charged with armed robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle after police say that they carjacked a good Samaritan who tried to help them after their car rolled over on I-57. Police say that 28 year old James A. Tallent, and 27 year old William C. Blunt, two men from Kankakee, were involved in a rollover crash on I-57, near 139th Street at about 4:30AM yesterday. A good Samaritan saw the rolled over vehicle, and stopped his 2000 Lexus SUV to try and help. Tallent and Blunt then allegedly threw the good Samaritan to the ground and stole his vehicle. Police reportedly found the stolen Lexus near Blunt’s home, where one of the men was arrested. The other man was arrested shortly thereafter in a nearby apartment building. Police also say that about half an hour before the rollover crash and carjacking, one or possibly both of the suspects was involved in the robbery of the Bradley, Illinois BP Fast and Fresh gas station. In that robbery, one man is said to have entered the gas station, armed with a black handgun, and demanded “all” the money. 85 Year Old Rape Victim Says Ordeal was Worse than the Holocaust

An 85 year old woman in Rossmoor, California stated that the home invasion and brutal rape she suffered two years ago was a worse experience than the holocaust. Thee woman (who name is not given for privacy reasons) was 13 years old when the holocaust came to her native country of Czechoslovakia. Her parents and five siblings were killed in the Auschwitz concentration camp, and she herself was beaten. A man who her parents had trusted to keep her safe was sexually abusive, and stole the little money that her mother had sewn into her jacket, before he abandoned her in the winter (without a jacket).

However, she told Superior Court Judge Daniel B. McNerney that an experience two years ago was even worse: She was confronted in her kitchen by a brutal home intruder. Her house was ransacked. In the first home invasion, 3 robbers armed with hammers entered 1300 W. Fourth St., Apt. 1, in Waterloo, IA and demanded wallets from residents Javier Garcia and Jonathan Sindo. The two victims handed over the wallets and then attempted to stop the intruders, police said. The three criminals then the two victims with hammers and then fled.

Detectives say that on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in the 8000 block of Port Douglas Drive, armed and masked men barged into the home just after 10:00 p.m. and didn’t leave until 3:00 a.m. on Thursday. The home invaders reportedly tied up 31 year-old Raven Parson and her three children: two girls, 14, and 10 and a three year-old boy. Tampa, FL police say Christopher Clabeaux was shot in the neck during an early morning home invasion in the Citrus Park Apartments. His friend, a 20-year-old woman was stopped in the complex parking by two armed men who forced her to take them to Clabeaux’s apartment. Once inside the apartment at 8102 Sheldon Road deputies say they hit one man in the mouth with a hammer and the other shot Clabeaux point blank in the neck. Two homeless people were ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail Wednesday, accused of beating a woman in the South Loop so severely she lost 14 teeth and remains hospitalized with bleeding on her brain, Chicago prosecutors said. Derrick King, 46, and Joyce Burgess, 36, both of whose most recent address was listed as the Pacific Garden Mission in the 1400 block of South Canal Street, were each charged with two counts of robbery in the attack, police said. Derrick King was also was charged with aggravated battery and Joyce Burgess was also charged with battery. The female victim and a man, both 36, were leaving a Jewel grocery store around 10:30 p.m. Monday at Roosevelt Road and Wabash Avenue when King and Burgess asked them for a cigarette, the prosecutors said. Jose Ledezma rang the bell of a random house in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue in Melrose Park, IL. He pushed his way inside when the 53-year-old husband and father answered the door at 5:45 a.m. Ledezma, 22, was armed with a BB gun that looked like a real handgun, an ax, a hunting knife and a stick that looked like a police baton, said Assistant State’s Attorney Maureen O’Brien. He first robbed the family, which also included the wife and two daughters, ages 7 and 10, in the living room. O’Brien said Ledezma then forced the family down into the basement and forced them to strip naked. He then locked the parents and the younger daughter in a bathroom and sexually assaulted the older daughter. For this crime, Jose Ledezma was recently sentenced to 28 years in prison. Police say he entered the apartment of a 48-year-old man and 50-year-old woman, armed with a knife, and demanded money. When the woman refused, Gunnell allegedly stabbed her several times.
