Baby Killed, Mother Critically Injured by Man with Battle Ax

A Las Vegas man reportedly attacked a mother and her 4 month old son, using a medieval-style battle ax.  The crime appears to be a random act, and the suspect in custody, reportedly identified as 33 year old Harold E. Montague, denies remembering the attack, police say.   Montague also is reportedly accused of stabbing his sister-in-law, a mentally disabled woman, more than 20 times with a point of the ax shortly before he allegedly attacked the mother and her baby. Disabled MS Man Required Surgery After Home Invasion

A disabled man is recovering from surgery to repair injuries suffered during a violent home invasion. An unknown man broke into Mike Lowe’s home on Stokes Robertson Road. The man tied up Lowe, hit him over the head with a wrench and stole petty cash and prescription medication. The blow to his shattered part of Lowe’s skull. More information here.

Two men charged with invasion of a paraplegic man’s home

Charlotte County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit detectives reportedly solved a second armed home invasion robbery charging the same pair that allegedly committed the same offense of home invasion on Tuesday, Sept. 2 morning in a paraplegic’s Port Charlotte home. Detectives tied in Michael Christian Moritz, 20, 27337 Neaptide Dr., Deep Creek and juvenile Rick J. Benedict, 15, 27174 Sunnybrook Rd., Harbour Heights, to an Aug. 25 home invasion at 27082 Adams St., in Harbour Heights, according to the report. More information here.
