A man who tortured and strangled his girlfriend three years ago was reportedly sentenced Friday to life in prison without possibility of parol. Prosecutors reportedly said that Jack Henry Lewis, Jr used his hands, feet and a flashlight to beat Jan Hasegawa, 48, then strangled her because she refused to perform a sex act. Her nude body, covered with more than 150 bruises, was found in their Serra Mesa apartment on Sept. 8, 2005. “This was not only a senseless killing, it was a brutal and horrible act,” Superior Court Judge John Einhorn is reported to have said in court. Troy, New York police have reportedly arrested a man in connection with a rape on a bike path that took place over the summer. Stephen Pluff, 24, is reportedly facing several felony charges including rape and unlawful imprisonment. Police say a woman was riding her bike when a man riding in the opposite direction reached his arm out and knocked her down from her bike, raped her, then fled on his bike. More information here.

Police in Swansea, MA are searching for a criminal that forced his way into a home, and slashed a woman’s throat with a knife after she tried to call 9-1-1.  More information here.

A disabled man is recovering from surgery to repair injuries suffered during a violent home invasion. An unknown man broke into Mike Lowe’s home on Stokes Robertson Road. The man tied up Lowe, hit him over the head with a wrench and stole petty cash and prescription medication. The blow to his shattered part of Lowe’s skull. More information here.

A man who ran a barber shop out of his home in unincorporated Redwood City, CA was reportedly pistol-whipped and robbed Wednesday night. Gilardo Mendoza, 43, reportedly suffered a head wound after the incident at his home on the 500 block of Hurlingame Avenue in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood. More information here.

Christopher Karls, a 24 year old male of Wayzata, MN allegedly admitted in court that he a 20-year-old woman who then leaping from her second-story apartment window wearing only a towel near the University of Minnesota after trying to fend off her attacker with a curling iron. Karls was reportedly previously convicted in 2002 for burglarizing an occupied dwelling in Stearns County. More information here.

Christopher Jackson, 32, allegedly forcibly entered an ex-girlfriend’s home in Chicago’s Douglas Park neighborhood armed with a gun, police said. He allegedly fatally shot Gonzalez’s current boyfriend, Robert White, and stabbed Gonzalez several times, police said. An order of protection had previously been in effect. More information here.

Derrick Gosnell, 25, of Spotsylvania, VA is reportedly charged with two counts of attempted rape, one count of sodomy and one count of abduction in Spotsylvania, said 1st Sgt. Liz Scott of the Sheriff’s Office. More information here.

George McFarland, 50, of Topeka, KS and Glen Morris, 49, of Wichita, KS were reportedly arrested in connection with a home invasion and beating. More information here.

A baby sitter accused of taking part in an armed home invasion appeared in bond court on Monday morning. Janette Martinez, 22, and her boyfriend, Fernando Luis Gaston, are reportedy accused of invading an FL home and pistol-whipping the resident on Saturday night, whose 7 year old child she reportedly babysat. Police are reportedly ooking for a suspect in a home invasion Wednesday in the Snowden, SC community. About 11:30 p.m., a resident opened his door after a knock and several people forced their way inside, said Sgt. Steve Meadows, police public information officer. The criminals reportedly tied up the man, fired a weapon into the ceiling, hit him several times in the head, and then demanded money. More information here.

Police in Mercer and Lawrence Counties, Ohio are looking for two suspects in a violent home invasion. The crime occured on Friday on Mercer, OH. Police reports indicate that the victim was tied up and had a gash on his head. More information here.

Three criminals forced their way into an apartment on Stratford Lane in Wallkill, MN at about 11 p.m. One was armed with a black handgun. The men took an undetermined amount of money from the two victims, injuring one, police reportedly said. More information here.

They allegedly targeted homes that had open windows or unlocked doors, struck in predawn hours and used masks and guns. They confronted victims in their bedrooms and tied them up before ransacking the homes. The burglars made off with cash and items such as jewelry and televisions. More information here.

Aarion Johnson, 28, is reportedly charged with murder in the death of Susanne Stoffels, who was found dead in her home on Ross Street in November 2007. Police say Johnson had broken into the home and raped Stoffels before killing her. Johnson is currently serving a 70-year sentence on previous rape and burglary charges. More information here.

Rockford police are reportedly investigating a home invasion during which a 22 year old Rockford man’s car was stolen. The armed criminals followed allegedly followed the man inside the home and told him to get on the floor, and demanded the car’s title. When he told them he didn’t have it, the robbers kicked him then took his car keys and fled. More information here.

In the brazen midday attack, assailants were wearing masks and bullet-proof vests, and a gunman shoot once in the air before firing at a man on a sidewalk. Multiple people where shot and otherwise injured. More information here.

Four defendants are facing multiple felony charges after a 47-year-old man was attacked during a home invasion in Billings, Montana. Police say four offenders entered the home of Jamie Ketcham on Sept. 11, sprayed him with mace, and and struck him several times in the head with a baseball bat, leaving him in critical condition. Authorities reportedly allege Christian Elias, along with Jordan O’Connell, 18, of 209 Ferry St., Lawrence, and an unidentified third man, went to the home of Jose Flores-Cruz, 20, of 60 Adelaide Ave., broke into the house, surprised a sleeping Flores-Cruz in his bedroom, and beat him with baseball bats.
