Woman’s throat slashed by criminal during violent home invasion

Police in Swansea, MA are searching for a criminal that forced his way into a home, and slashed a woman’s throat with a knife after she tried to call 9-1-1.  More information here.

NJ Man In Critical Condition After Home Invasion Shooting

A Pemberton Township, NJ man was reportedly shot by an intruder who broke into his home at approximately 2:30 a.m. The victim, Trashan Rushing, is being treated for a gunshot wound to the head that has reportedly left him in critical condition. His young children and other relatives were reportedly asleep in the home when three criminals who were wearing hoods and masks broke into the home and demanded money. More information here.

Fatal home invasion in Chicago

Christopher Jackson, 32, allegedly forcibly entered an ex-girlfriend’s home in Chicago’s Douglas Park neighborhood armed with a gun, police said. He allegedly fatally shot Gonzalez’s current boyfriend, Robert White, and stabbed Gonzalez several times, police said. An order of protection had previously been in effect. More information here.

A Bloody Home Invasion in Canada

In the brazen midday attack, assailants were wearing masks and bullet-proof vests, and a gunman shoot once in the air before firing at a man on a sidewalk. Multiple people where shot and otherwise injured. More information here.

A Father and Son Accused of Home Invasion and Attempted Murder

Donald Samber Jr. and his son, Donald Samber III, were allegedly looking for prescription pills when they stormed into a mobile home on Victoria Avenue, fired a shotgun at their victims, and got stabbed by one victim, authorities say. The men were caught a few hours later and have been charged with attempted murder and home invasion. More information here.

Chicago man charged with fatal carjacking of 88-year-old

88-year-old carjack victim Jacint Calderazzo was on his way to Midway Airport last week, when Kenneth Starr reportedly approached Calderazzo’s car and robbed him, Chicago police said. Police reportedly believe the elderly man was knocked to the ground and apparently run over with his own car as his assailant sped off. Starr, 33, whose address is listed in the 4800 block of West Congress Parkway in Chicago, initially was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and attempted murder, police said. 2 Tenants Stabbed During Robbery

An apartment building handyman allegedly stabbed two tenants several times during a robbery and has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, Chicago police said Sunday. Thaddeus Gunnell, 36, of the 300 block of 154th Place, Calumet City, has also been charged with two counts of home invasion for the incident that happened about 6 a.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of South Cornell Ave., Chicago. Police say he entered the apartment of a 48-year-old man and 50-year-old woman, armed with a knife, and demanded money. When the woman refused, Gunnell allegedly stabbed her several times. When the man came to her aid, Gunnell also allegedly stabbed him several times.  More information here.
