Home Invasion and Car Theft in Rockford, IL

Rockford police are reportedly investigating a home invasion during which a 22 year old Rockford man’s car was stolen. The armed criminals followed allegedly followed the man inside the home and told him to get on the floor, and demanded the car’s title. When he told them he didn’t have it, the robbers kicked him then took his car keys and fled. More information here.

A Bloody Home Invasion in Canada

In the brazen midday attack, assailants were wearing masks and bullet-proof vests, and a gunman shoot once in the air before firing at a man on a sidewalk. Multiple people where shot and otherwise injured. More information here.

Mother and Small Children Held at Gunpoint During Home Invasion Robbery

Police have reportedly made one arrest after an early morning home invasion at the Coolivan Apartments off Sixth Street in Lexington, KS. Police have reportedly charged 31-year-old Lashonda Martin with 1st degree robbery. Officers say they are still searching for three other suspects who broke down down a door at the apartment building and held a mother and two small children at gunpoint inside during the robbery. A Father and Son Accused of Home Invasion and Attempted Murder

Donald Samber Jr. and his son, Donald Samber III, were allegedly looking for prescription pills when they stormed into a mobile home on Victoria Avenue, fired a shotgun at their victims, and got stabbed by one victim, authorities say. The men were caught a few hours later and have been charged with attempted murder and home invasion. More information here.

Mountain View, CA police investigating rash of daylight home invasions

Mountain View, California police are investigating 18 residential daytime burglaries over the last five months. Police spokeswoman Liz Wylie said that the break-ins have all happened since April in “broad daylight.” In addition to the daytime burglaries, Wylie said there have been similar residential burglaries at night. Man Sentenced to Life in Prison For Child Rape

A man on was reportedly sentenced to life in prison after he kidnapped and raped a 5 year old girl. Matthew Cook Casey, 37, kidnapped the child from her Williamson home on Dec. 14, 2006 and raped her in his car, accoridng to a release from U.S. Attorney Chuck Miller’s office. Earlier that day, Casey raped a 55-year-old woman in South Williamson, Ky., the same release indicated. More information here.

4 Charged in Violent MT Home Invasion

Four defendants are facing multiple felony charges after a 47-year-old man was attacked during a home invasion in Billings, Montana. Police say four offenders entered the home of Jamie Ketcham on Sept. 11, sprayed him with mace, and and struck him several times in the head with a baseball bat, leaving him in critical condition. Second teen arrested in Adelaide Avenue home invasion

Authorities reportedly allege Christian Elias, along with Jordan O’Connell, 18, of 209 Ferry St., Lawrence, and an unidentified third man, went to the home of Jose Flores-Cruz, 20, of 60 Adelaide Ave., broke into the house, surprised a sleeping Flores-Cruz in his bedroom, and beat him with baseball bats. 2 Home Invasions In Iowa; Using Hammers and Guns

There were a pair of home invasions in Iowa:

In the first home invasion, 3 robbers armed with hammers entered 1300 W. Fourth St., Apt. 1, in Waterloo, IA and demanded wallets from residents Javier Garcia and Jonathan Sindo. The two victims handed over the wallets and then attempted to stop the intruders, police said. The three criminals then the two victims with hammers and then fled.

In  the second home invasion, 2 men reportedly kicked in the back door to 502 Almond St in Waterloo, IA at about 1:55 a.m. Their faces were covered, one of them hand a handgun, and they demanded money from residents Maursid Gaston and Nikesha Roberts. The robbers with cash, and no injuries were reported, police said.

Farmington Police Search for Home Invader

Farmington, MN police are searching for the armed man they say broke into a home and pulled a gun on its owner Sunday afternoon. The home invasion happened about 3pm, near the corner of 195th St and Everest Path while the home owner and his daughter were at home, police said. The gunman fled after getting a small amount of money from the homeowner, police said. More information here.

Canadian Family Suffers Violent Home Invasion

A 27-year-old home owner was the victim of a violent home invasion. Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the man, his roommate and a girlfriend were watching TV in their Pickford Drive home, when the suddenly the door burst open and three armed men stormed into the house. The home invaders held the trio hostage for about 10 minutes while they ransacked the house, and made off with a 42” LCD television, a laptop, cell phones and a small amount of cash.“I was pressed down to the couch with a gun to my head almost the whole time,” the resident said. “I looked across at my roommate with a knife to his throat, and the girl was just sitting there panicking, screaming.” More information here.

Two sought in home invasion robbery

CA Sheriff’s investigators are reportedly asking the publics’ help in finding 34-year-old David Neil Morreo and 19-year-old Thomas Charles Durnin. The men are allegedly suspected of forcing their way into a San Jacinto, CA home in the 300 block of E. Main Street. Officials reportedly said a female resident was home when two men showed up at 11 a.m. Saturday, and pushed their way into the home while brandishing two shiney handguns. One of the men demanded valuables and took a wallet, officials said. More information here.

CA Home Invasion-Sex Assaults Linked to Lone Criminal

Investigators have determined four Natomas, CA area home invasion robberies and sexual assaults appear to be the work of a single attacker, Sacramento authorities said Sunday. Sacramento Police and Sacramento County sheriff’s officials said the four unsolved home invasion cases all happened within the past year. In two of the attacks, the victim was sexually assaulted. University of Connecticut Student Raped in Home Invasion

A Woodbridge, CT man has been released on bond after police said he broke into the apartment of an University of Connecticut student and raped her. When officers arrived, they reportedly said Frank Cirillo, 21, was found partially clothed attempting to force his way into a nearby apartment. Cirillo was reportedly taken into police custody and charged with home invasion, sexual assault in the first degree, burglary, criminal attempt burglary, criminal mischief, larceny and breach of peace.  More information here.

Man Stabbed and robbed in home invasion

A 42-year-old man was in his home when he heard pounding on his front door. As he went to the door, it was kicked open by criminals. During the incident, the victim was assaulted, battered and robbed, police said. One of the women was armed with a knife, and the victim received a large cut to the back of his head after being struck by an unknown object. More information here.

Westland, MI woman faces home invasion charges

A Westland woman believed to be responsible for 10 home invasions in Canton Township is reportedly facing felony charges, police said. Becky Sue Malmsten, 49, was charged with home invasion, larceny from a building, and habitual offender fourth offense; which carries up to life imprisonment. She is held on a $25,000 cash bond. 6 Arrested in VA Home Invasion Spree

Suffolk, VA police announced Friday they have made arrests in a string of six home invasions that terrorized county residents to a Wyandanch, VA ring of young men ranging in age from 18 to 21. Reportedly arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery were Tyrone Simpson, 18, of 100 E. Booker St., Wyandanch; Andy Sukram, 18, of 353 Terrace Rd., Bayport; Bryan Bethea Jr., 21, of Cranberry Avenue, Central Islip; Benjamin Gaines, 18, of 270 State Ave., Wyandanch; and Jamel Bishop, 19, of 555 Atlantic Ave., Copiague. Police also reportedly arrested Steven Brison, 18, 270 State Ave., Wyandanch, and charged him with criminal possession of stolen property. More information here.

Oakland, CA man convicted of 1994 rape and murder

An Oakland, California man faces life in prison without parole after being convicted of a brutal rape and murder more than a decade ago. Authorities connected Willie Latimore, 58, to the case after he was forced to give a DNA sample subsequent to a robbery conviction. The DNA proved to be a match DNA taken from the body of 35-year-old Gwendolyn Evans, who was found beaten, raped, and stabbed in an abandoned apartment on November 11th, 1994. More information here.

Violent VA Beach Home Invasion

An investigation revealed that three armed criminals males forced their way into an apartment, located in the 4700 blk. of Windermere Ct., in the Pembroke Lakes Apartments. Police say numerous people were in the apartment at the time of the invasion. They also say the suspects assaulted one man and sexually assaulted two females. During the invasion, a juvenile arriving at the apartment saw what was going on and ran, but was shot in front of the building. More information here.

Chicago man charged with fatal carjacking of 88-year-old

88-year-old carjack victim Jacint Calderazzo was on his way to Midway Airport last week, when Kenneth Starr reportedly approached Calderazzo’s car and robbed him, Chicago police said. Police reportedly believe the elderly man was knocked to the ground and apparently run over with his own car as his assailant sped off. Starr, 33, whose address is listed in the 4800 block of West Congress Parkway in Chicago, initially was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and attempted murder, police said.
